Adulterer’s Lament

birds-of-a-feather-legalism

I had too much to drink

I’m lying on the floor,

Watching the lightning flashes behind my eyes

Images of what was before.

Listening to Patti Smith,

Rizlas torn and shred.

I’d move if I could escape

The dreams that wait in my bed.

This carrying all things is harder than I thought.

I’ll pull out my tail feathers

And see who will applaud.
